More on Bush's lead...
from the mind of  Daredemo.

Drudge has a link to the Newsweek poll that gives Bush a 13 point bounce (54% to 43%) among registered voters -- roughly over the past month. The bounce may be more due to the convention than the Swifties. Time magazine's poll prior to the convention has a dead even (46%-44%) spread among likely voters in the week prior to the convention (by which point the Swifties arguably had had a fair chunk of their effect). Then on Sep 3 (just before Bush's speech in the convention) they quote a 52% to 41% lead, again among likely voters. A bounce of about 9 points -- the error on these guys are all in the 3-4% range (they seem to always stop polling once they get 1000 people).

BTW, CNN is reporting we got al-Duri, the guy believed to be behind much of the "insurgency". So things ought to be settling down in Iraq with him and Sadr captured and/or behaving themselves...

And... AP is relaying claims we're close to getting bin Laden. But... we've heard that one before...

Things're looking good!

OK -- guess that teaches me for putting credence in a report from CNN -- now its uncertain whether al Duri was actually caught or not. The link in the posting appears to have been updated to reflect CNN's uncertainty.

But I'll stand by the "things look good" assertion...

As long as one isn't living in Florida...
