Liberal Math
from the mind of  Unknown.

Today at work, a co-worker started spouting today about how the Bush Administration was spending $22,000 a second in Iraq.

I chimed in and said I was skeptical. He firmly stated that he was correct, and could prove it.

So, I returned to my cubicle and popped open the calculator on my workstation's desktop.

$22,000*60 = $1,320,000 per minute

$1,320,000*60 = $79,200,000 per hour

$79,200,0008*24 = $1,900,800,000 per day

So... 1.9 billion dollars per day. The entire DoD budget for each year is roughly $500 billion. At that rate, our soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines would start starving by sometime around the end of September... And... The special appropriations bills from congress would only last about a month. That's what he was saying... I asked him to do his math, and he refused. In fact, after attempting to use the calculator for a few seconds to do his own calculations... He just shut up.

I told him that the figure was much more likely in the thousands, probably the low thousands, which was not so odd. Many large corporations have much greater per second budgets than the Iraq War... And they aren't even working on keeping 25 million people liberated and free. I offered to show him several earnings statements of large corporations and do the math for him... but he seemed to have lost interest.

So, there you have it folks. Arithmetic is useful. It shuts up liberal idiots!

New Media vs. the Old Media
from the mind of  Cowgirl Up.

Many of you reading this would agree, it's always a kick to watch Michelle Malkin deliver her own special brand of whoop-ass. But did you know she's doing it right on your very own iPod?

Allow me to introduce you to my new favorite web site, Hot Air. One very hot, very professional, and very hip online media outlet.

All the usual topics in current events & politics are covered, often delivered in the form of well-produced video bites. Watch Michelle's Vents on recent issues facing the Minute Men and President Bush's speech on illegal immigration to start. Given the many forms of Hot Air's new media delivery, including video podcasts, I can't be held responsible should you become addicted.

In stark contrast, as if those in the MSM were in competition with each other to prove once and for all what incompetent boobs they truly are, CNN takes the cake once more with yet another screw up on last night's live broadcast speech by the President. Video of what CNN broadcast now archived here on YouTube.

Hm, let me see... If my choices are between the unprofessional, arrogant, disorganized dinosaurs of the Old Media and current, professional & provocative New Media outlets such as Hot Air, then I (and numerous others with access to a keyboard & internet connection) will no doubt flock to the latter.
